Eating Gluten-Free at Firebirds A Plus Rating!
When my husband and I decided to go Gluten Free we thought that we would never be able to eat out again. Pessimistically we said goodbye to having happy hours with our friends and pictured ourselves alone on Friday nights at home so that we could maintain our gluten free lifestyle. Well, just as we thought it would be impossible to live without bread, we have also found that it is possible to eat out, go to happy hours and enjoy dinner with friends even while maintaining a gluten free diet.
Many places now offer menus that are gluten free or at the very least the server can offer some gluten free suggestions. One our favorite places to go right now is Firebirds at Village point. The atmosphere is intimate and on the more formal side. That being said, don’t be afraid to show up in your sweat, the staff is nice and no one will give you a dirty look because you are looking a little grungy.
Even if I don’t have time or just want a quick meal at home, their food is just as good for takeout. Often times I will call in for their wonderful steak salad. Ready in about 15 minutes, it is a great and easy meal when I want to eat healthy without slaving over the stove at home.
Anytime I have gone in the wait-staff is extremely accommodating to my special diet needs and they never make me feel like I am a bother. I love that I don’t have to send my salad back because they forget and put croutons on it and since they have an open kitchen and everything is made in their kitchen I really feel like I am getting quality without contamination.
If you are looking for a great restaurant with an atmosphere to match you have to check out Firebirds at Village Point. Whether you are gluten free or not, you won’t be disappointed with the food.
