Family-Friendly Halloween Activities for 2022 in OmahaThere's a lot of family-friendly fun to be had this Halloween in Omaha. Here is a list of upcoming Halloween events in the Omaha area. Please take note it is a good idea to make sure to check ahead to verify all of the fine details including if the event has a pre-registration requirement or is limiting capacity. Some events also have time slots that need to be signed up for in advance.

Jack-o'-lantern World

Located at ET Mahoney State Park at 28500 West Park Highway in Ashland Nebraska. This is a fun trail filled with thousands of jack-o'-lanterns that are hand carved by more than 50 artists and volunteers. It is a fun way to get outside and enjoy an amazing site like no other. The trail has been open since September 30 and will close on October 30. Make sure to check start times for the day you plan to arrive tickets are between $20 and $24.

Halloween Green Screen Photos

This is a fun and different type of Halloween event you don't often see in other areas. Come to Council Bluffs Library at 400 Willow Ave. in Council Bluffs Iowa. Taking place on October 27 from 630 to 8 enjoy a free space to take photos with a green screen backdrop perfect for taking photos in costumes.

Friday Night Movies at Ditmars Orchard and Vineyard

The time for this event varies and is based on when the sun sets for the day. It is a fun chance to enjoy a free movie at Ditmars Orchard and Vineyard. The playground is also open for play before the movie begins. It is advised to bring your own blankets and chairs as well as bug spray and get cozy out on the lawn. On October 21 they will be showing Beetlejuice and on October 28 the movie is Ghostbusters. The orchard is located at 19475 225th St. in Council Bluffs

Ghouls and Glow at Omahas Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium

On October 21 from 630 to 10 come out to the zoo and enjoy a fun ticket event. The Zoo is located at 3701 S. 10th St. in Omaha. It is encouraged to purchase tickets beforehand online as they are three dollars more at the gate. There are almost countless Halloween activities to take part in at the zoo including fun Halloween-themed lanterns all over the trails, s'mores making, pumpkin decorating, carousel rides, and trick-or-treating.

Trick-or-treat Days at Omaha Children's Museum

October 22 and October 29 from 9 AM to 5 PM this event is included with your museum admission while supplies last. There will be three tables all around the museum as well as special exhibits in costumes are encouraged. The museum is located at 500 S. 20th St. in Omaha

The Great Halloween Hunt at the Durham Museum

On October 25 this is a free event for members. Non-member tickets are $13 per adult, $10 per senior, and seven dollars for children aged 3 to 12. All those two and under are also free. Come out to the museum and trick-or-treat from historical characters and enjoyed the spooky display as well as play Gramz and make crafts. The Durham Museum is at 801 S. 10th St. in Omaha.

Halloween Safe Night and Fall Festival at Papillion Lavista South High School

This is a free event for families to enjoy a safe atmosphere on October 28 from 6 to 8 PM. There will be tons of games, bounce houses, and activities for all ages to enjoy. There will be opportunities to win fun prizes and of course tons of candy. The high school is located at 10799 Highway 370 in Papillion Nebraska.

Fort Robinson Haunted Halloween

On October 29 from 4:30 to 7 PM enjoy a free trick-or-treating event by visiting campers, cars, pickup trucks, trailers, and other vehicles around the campground. If you plan to park at the state park you will need a required permit for parking.

Anyone in costume can be entered for a chance to win a two-night stay at one of the park's cabins that sleeps up to six people. Prizes will be awarded for different costume categories as well. There will be free wagon rides through the park and the opportunity to purchase a five-dollar chili dinner. This year there is a new location at 3200 Highway 20 in Crawford. It will be at the parade ground and Buffalo soldiers Barracks.
