Pumpkin Patches to Visit in the Omaha Area in the Fall
The fall season is just around the corner, and when many people think of fall they think of checking out a local farm and picking out the perfect pumpkins to take home and decorate the front steps of the porch and later turn into a fun lantern for Halloween night.

Farms Growing Pumpkins in the Omaha Area
For convenience, we have listed these pumpkin patches in order of their distance from the city of Omaha with the exception of the first listing.
Vala's Pumpkin Patch and Apple Orchard
Vala's is located just west of Omaha at 12102 South 189th St in Gretna Nebraska. Some of the locals refer to Vala's as the "Disney of Pumpkin Patches." There is a lot of activity to immerse yourself in beyond picking out the perfect pumpkin. It is easy to spend a whole day on this farm and not get bored.
Vala's has so much to do that it is advised that you grab a map so you do not get lost. It really is like a theme park on a farm. The price of admission is a little higher than your typical farm pumpkin patch visit, but all of the fun that is offered makes it worth it.
September Festival Days tickets cost $28.99 and you can save $5 by purchasing tickets online. Tickets for Monday through Thursday are $19.99 with a $2 savings online. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday tickets cost $33.99 with a $5 online savings. Children 2 and under are free. You can also purchase season passes for $84.99 with a $10 discount online. Tickets for active military members are $16 when purchased at Offutt Airforce Base.
The 2022 festival season at Vala's opens on September 2 and the official fall season runs from September 23rd to October 31st. The farm is open from 9 am to 9 pm Sunday through Thursday and 9 am to 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Activities beyond pumpkin picking at Vala's include countless food options like the famous pie and ciders. There are also hayrides, apple picking, barnyard adventure ride, photo spots, several mazes, a haunted house, haunted trail, education opportunities, live entertainment, animals, several play structures, golf, peddle trikes, go-carts, zip line, and ropes course, train rides, apple blasters, paintball, gemstone mine, pony rides, and more.
Okay so maybe you could spend more than a day here and you still might not get everything in.
Markman Pumpkin Patch
This is a small family-owned farm with a very laid-back atmosphere. It's a great place to go for busy families that would like to fit in a pumpkin patch experience without taking an entire day. Admission is free and the pumpkins are inexpensive in comparison to other locations. It also has a fun play area. Markman Pumpkin Patch is located at 6424 N. 120th St. in Omaha.
Winninghoff Farms
Located at 6707 Wellinghoff Rd. in Omaha admission is very reasonable and those two and under are free. This is a great local produce farm that offers pumpkins during the fall season. In addition to pumpkins, you can find some cute fall decor items like hay bales and corn stocks. This great local produce farm encourages family fun and hopes everyone will come out and be a kid again and get dirty while playing on the combine slide or the corn play area.
Bellevue Berry and Pumpkin Ranch
Just 12 miles outside of Omaha at 11001 S. 48th St. in Papillion Nebraska. They also offer a military weekend where admission is half off with a military ID you can also get one child admission for half off with a military ID. Ranch of Terror and Haunted Hayride tickets are extra. It's a fun pumpkin patch during the day with hayrides and play areas and at night the haunted hayrides are very popular.
Pioneer Trail
Located in Council Bluffs Iowa at 21534 Chestnut Rd. just 12 miles from Omaha. Some of the highlights include a haunted farmhouse to explore after picking the perfect pumpkin.
Skinny Bones
Located about 22 miles from Omaha at 3935 N. East 133 in Blair Nebraska. Admission is a little bit higher than other area pumpkin patches but there are plenty of activities to enjoy for your admission price. This farm also offers a season pass. Come out and enjoy pedal carts, corn maze, pumpkin shooter, slides, and evening events on Fridays and Saturdays.
There are many great farms all over the state of Nebraska and in Iowa as well. For those who really love getting out on local farms, you could make a whole fall season of getting out to visit all of the farms within a couple of hour's drive from Omaha. You may not even get to each one of them in one season.
